Cristiano Ronaldo goes trophyless this season as Al Nassr lost 5-4 on penalties to Al Hilal in the King’s Cup Final last night. The Portuguese striker was very affected by the loss as he was seen crying on the pitch after the match came to an end. Many of Ronaldo’s fans feel sorry for the Portuguese striker as he had an amazing campaign with the team this season but did not win a trophy to complete the great year he had. CR7 was consoled by his teammates and many think that he could be leaving the club soon after this tough loss. If Ronaldo is ready to leave the Saudi Pro League club, the co-owner of Inter Miami, David Beckham, could potentially try to sign the striker once again this summer. Many fans want Ronaldo and Messi to be on the same team so they can conquer the MLS for the next few years.
Ronaldo played a total of 45 matches for Al Nassr this season across all competitions. CR7 scored a total of 44 goals and provided 13 assists this season across all competitions, but their performances in the competitions they were in did not go well. In the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr finished second in the league with 82 points, with a record of 26 wins, four draws, and four losses. Al Hilal finished first with 96 points, with a record of 31 wins, three draws, and zero losses.
Al Nassr was eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup in the semifinals by Al Hilal a couple of months ago. They were also eliminated in the AFC Champions League by the eventual champions of the competition, Al Ain, in the quarterfinals. Al Nassr will hope to convince Ronaldo to stay next season with signings this summer transfer window.
If Inter Miami were to sign CR7 this summer, there would be some changes in the squad. Luis Suarez is the striker of the team, but Ronaldo’s form and star power will lead to him starting over him. Inter Miami fans would like to see Messi and Ronaldo playing together, which means we could see that striker partnership. It could even be Suarez and Ronaldo as the strikers with Messi playing behind them.
