Last January, Cristiano Ronaldo made a transfer move to Saudi club Al-Nassr. The move stunned many football fans worldwide, and they questioned the Portuguese over his decision to play there. According to Al Jazeera, the Portuguese striker signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Saudi club in a deal with more than $200 million yearly.
Since the move, the striker got 14 goals in 16 Saudi Pro League appearances in the 22/23 season. This season, he has broken that record of goals by a large amount. Ronaldo has scored 20 goals and provided nine assists in only 18 games. That is 29 goal contributions in 18 games. Ronaldo turns 39 in February and looks motivated to continue playing past the first contract he signed with Al-Nassr.
As Ronaldo continues to excel on the football pitch, the Portuguese has also gained a massive boost financially. At 38, the player is fortunate to not only have high wages with Al-Nassr but also the businesses and sponsorship deals he managed to get, which have pushed him to be one of the richest athletes in the world.
American business magazine Forbes named Cristiano Ronaldo the highest-paid athlete in the world. Ronaldo's net worth is rounded to about 500 million euros, and the player is rumored to have made 107 million euros at the start of 2023. Ronaldo makes the most out of any player in the Saudi League, including Benzema, Mane, and Neymar. Mbappe and Messi aren't near him either, and the sponsorship deals in Arabia make him untouchable.
The current deal with Al-Nassr expires in the summer of 2025. Ronaldo would be 40 years old by the time the contract ends. No rumors as of yet circulate about a possible contract extension, but Ronaldo fans believe in seeing more of the Portuguese after the deal ends.
