Cristiano Ronaldo has a contract with Al Nassr until the summer of 2025, but many rumors suggest that he will leave to play somewhere else. New reports suggest that he will return to Portugal but as an Al Nassr player. Al Nassr may be invited to a friendly tournament with Sporting CP, Benfica, and FC Porto at the Algarve. The problem for Portuguese fans is that CR7 may not be involved in the friendly matches since the tournament would take place just after the 2024 Euros tournament, where Ronaldo is expected to take a small vacation break with his family.
Al Nassr had a Portugal camp-friendly tour where they played four games in July last year. Al Nassr faced FC Alverca, FC Farense, Celta de Vigo, and Benfica. The team also traveled to Japan last year, where they played friendly matches against PSG and Inter Milan. The last preparation camp last summer was friendly matches against Al Shabab, USM, and Zamalek.
Many fans would love to see Ronaldo face off against his former club, Sporting CP, which he faced in the past when he played for Real Madrid in the Champions League. CR7 scored a free kick against them in the Santiago Bernabeu, but he did not celebrate the goal and apologized to the traveling Sporting fans. His love for the love continues despite playing for Al Nassr, and he proved it once again this past weekend. Sporting CP officially won the Liga Portugal after beating Portimonense 3-0. Ronaldo congratulated the club for winning the league on his Instagram story and some fans hope he makes a return to the club as a player soon.
During the title celebration in Portugal, Sporting CP player Ivan Fresneda does the SIUU celebration in front of the fans. Many fans reacted to it in a positive way since CR7 is considered a football legend who made his professional debut with them. Sporting CP has reached 84 points after 32 league games this season. The team could reach 90 points if they win their remaining two league games.
