The Panama national team, led by coach Thomas Christiansen, has unveiled its starting lineup for the friendly match against the United States. Eduardo Guerrero, the Dynamo Kyiv striker, will spearhead the attack as Panama aims to secure a third consecutive victory over their North American rivals.

The Canaleros will take to the field at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, with the goal of leaving a positive impression and defeating the Americans. Panama has enjoyed recent success against the US, including a penalty shootout victory in the 2023 Gold Cup semifinals and a 2-1 win in the group stage of the 2024 Copa América.

Coach Christiansen has opted for a somewhat experimental lineup, including Eduardo Guerrero in the starting XI. The 27-year-old, who plays for Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona in the Israeli Premier League, has been in impressive form following his strong performance in the 2024 Copa América.

"Fulo" Guerrero will lead the attack, with Cristian Martínez partnering with Adalberto Carrasquilla in midfield. Notably absent from the starting lineup is veteran midfielder Aníbal Godoy, who is recovering from a hamstring injury.

Panama Starting Lineup: Orlando Mosquera, Roderick Miller, Edgardo Fariña, Fidel Escobar, Michael Amir Murillo, César Blackman, Cristian Martínez, Adalberto Carrasquilla, Édgar Yoel Bárcenas, José Luis Rodríguez, Eduardo Guerrero.

Christiansen’s decision to bench Godoy and include Guerrero highlights his desire to experiment with different formations and combinations ahead of future competitions. The match against the United States provides a valuable opportunity for the coach to assess the team's progress and identify areas for improvement.

With the game set to be broadcast live on RPC Televisión at 7:00 PM, fans in Panama will be eager to see how the team performs against their regional rivals.
