Manchester City were happy to stay with a point after the Liverpool game yesterday in the Premier League. The game ended 1-1, but in the second half, Liverpool looked superior and could've ended the game by converting their chances. There was even controversy at the end when Doku seemed to kick Alexis Mac Allister on his chest, but the VAR and referee did not give it. While Man City are happy they did not lose the game, they are nervous and upset to hear the injury of Ederson being worse than expected.

Early in the second half, Nathan Ake gave a slow pass to Ederson at the edge of the box. Darwin Nunez was quicker than Ederson to get to the ball, but a collision between Ederson and Nunez led to a penalty for Liverpool. Nunez was fouled in the box, but Ederson felt it was the worst of the two. He stuck his leg out to try and take the ball, but he went down and struggled to keep going. He almost saved the penalty guessing the right way, but Mac Allister scored for Liverpool. In the 56th minute, Ederson was subbed out and replaced by Stefan Ortega because he couldn't continue.
Jack Gaughan from the Daily Mail reports that Ederson is set for 3-4 weeks out with a thigh injury. The Brazilian would miss the Newcastle United game on Saturday in the Quarterfinals of the FA Cup and a crucial game against Arsenal in the Premier League on March 31st. Man City will have to stick with Stefan Ortega for these next two games and possibly more, depending on Ederson's recovery.

Ederson isn't one of the highest earners in the Manchester City squad, according to Capology.com. Ederson earns around $126k a week and has a yearly salary of nearly $7 million. If Ederson misses four weeks without action, Man City will lose around $504k due to the Brazilian not playing for the team.
