Liverpool defeated Sheffield United 3-1 at Anfield in the Premier League. Liverpool is at the top of the Premier League table with 70 points and is now two points ahead of second-place Arsenal and three points ahead of Manchester City, who are third. Liverpool struggled against 20th-place Sheffield United, who drew their previous two games.

Liverpool didn't start the best once again as Sheffield United were close to the opener in the first minute. Sheffield United had a corner, and they almost scored from it, but no one was able to connect with the ball. Liverpool brought up the intensity, and they went back to being relentless at Anfield. In the 17th minute, Liverpool did score the equalizer in the strangest way possible. A ball is played back to Sheffield United's keeper Ivo Grbic. Darwin Nunez ran towards Grbic, and the keeper tried to clear it before Nunez got to it. Grbic did kick the ball, but it hit Nunez, and the ball bounced into the net. Nunez scored once again for Liverpool, and it was arguably the easiest.

Sheffield United was close before halftime as Bogle took a fierce strike headed towards the bottom corner, but Kelleher made the save. In the second half, Liverpool fans started to worry as Sheffield United grabbed an equalizer. In the 58th minute, the Blades grabbed an equalizer as Hamer headed the ball towards the goal, but Conor Bradley accidentally poked the ball through Kelleher's legs. The ball rolled into the net, and it was 1-1 between Liverpool and Sheffield. Liverpool needed a win to regain their 1st place spot of the Premier League table.

Mac Allister's screamer and Cody Gakpo's header sealed Liverpool's win

In the 76th minute, Liverpool regained the lead when all hope seemed lost. Luis Diaz in the box tried to score, but he laid the ball to Alexis Mac Allister outside the box. The Argentine doesn't think twice and sends the ball into the top corner to give Liverpool the 2-1 lead. Anfield erupted as it meant the Reds were back at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool needed to seal the win as Liverpool fans were worried that Sheffield United could potentially grab another equalizer. All the nerves were gone as in the 90th minute, Andy Roberton sent a great cross in the box to Cody Gakpo, who headed the ball into the bottom corner. It was 3-1 to Liverpool, and the Reds sealed another important victory in the Premier League.
