Karim Benzema and Real Madrid are back together, but not as how fans think and wish the reunion would be. Benzema is currently injured with Al Ittihad, and the Saudi Arabian club announced that Real Madrid is helping them treat the players' injuries. The official statement of Al Ittihad reads, "Karim Benzema has returned to Real Madrid to undergo medical examinations regarding the injury he suffered this season, in communication between the medical staff of Al Ittihad and Real Madrid." Benzema will be at the Real Madrid training ground in Valdebebas to undergo the tests, and the Saudi Arabian club is grateful for the help.

Benzema joined Al Ittihad from Real Madrid last summer on a free transfer. This season for Al Ittihad, the French striker has played 29 matches in all competitions, where he scored 13 goals and provided eight assists. Although he was signed as a star, he may be considered underwhelming due to the unlucky injuries he has suffered this season. His last game for Al Ittihad was on April 20th against Al Hazem in a 3-2 win. His last goal was against Al Wehda in a 2-1 win in the Saudi Super Cup.

With Real Madrid, he made a total of 648 appearances for the Spanish club in all competitions. He scored 354 goals and provided 165 assists throughout his career for Los Blancos. With Real Madrid, he won five Champions League, five FIFA Club World Cups, four La Liga titles, four UEFA Super Cups, three Spanish Cups, and four Spanish Super Cups.
