Real Madrid arguably won the summer transfer window as they signed Kylian Mbappé as a free agent. He will officially become a Real Madrid player on July 1st, and the French star will be joining one of the strongest squads in Europe, and the Spanish club may not stop making star signings. Mbappé may have requested the club to sign one of his good friends at PSG, Achraf Hakimi. The Moroccan right-back is exceptional in the right-back position, and if Real Madrid signs him, Hakimi would be returning to the club since he played there in the past. With Hakimi potentially arriving, many Madrid fans are concerned about the future of Dani Carvajal. The Spanish contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2025 after renewing in 2021. Real Madrid plans to make the signing of Hakimi in 2026 while offering a new contract extension to Carvajal that extends until the summer of 2026. Hakimi would be a direct replacement for Carvajal in the summer of 2026.

Diario AS reports that Real Madrid is planning to overhaul the fullback positions as Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy's futures are uncertain. The Spanish club wants to sign a new right back, which could be Hakimi or Reece James, and a left back, which could be Alphonso Davies.

Real Madrid now assumes Alphonso Davies will stay at Bayern for one more year and has decided to keep Mendy and Fran Garcia. Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez's contracts will also be renewed until 2026. The Spanish club will be having a younger squad in the next couple of years, which could put them as an even stronger team in the upcoming decade.
