Pep Guardiola has lifted another Premier League trophy with Manchester City, but now the Spanish manager could be worried ahead of next season. Fabrizio Romano reported that Ederson could leave Man City in the summer transfer window if there is a good proposal; it’s a possibility. There’s already interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, with Ederson considering possibilities at the end of the season. It will be up to the player. The Brazilian keeper has been at the club since 2017, when he joined from Benfica. Although Saudi Arabia could go for the Brazilian keeper, they are also interested in FC Barcelona keeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen. FC Barcelona could potentially sell the German keeper, and the replacement could be Ederson.
Reports from Barcelona suggest that if Ter Stegen were to leave this summer, Ederson would be the number one target to replace him. FC Barcelona would struggle to sign the Brazilian keeper without selling Ter Stegen or another crucial player who is highly valuable in the market. Other players who could potentially leave the Catalan club are Frenkie De Jong and Ronald Araujo.
The Mirror reports that senior Manchester City figures fear Ederson is ready to leave, with the Saudi Pro League his likeliest destination. Although Man City is not looking to sell, if a huge offer way above its market value came in, the club would consider it/make a decision accordingly. Man City fans also fear that the Brazilian is ready to leave the club, especially after his anger towards Pep Guardiola after being subbed off in the Spurs vs Man City last week. Ederson suffered a blow to his eye socket, and the Spanish manager did not want to risk him. Now, he will miss the FA Cup final against Manchester United this weekend and the Copa America match with Brazil.
Ederson won his 6th Premier League title for Manchester City, and with the new title, he broke a record in the league. The Brazilian became the most successful goalkeeper in the history of the Premier League. He is also the most successful South American player in the Premier League after picking up his 6th league trophy.
