Erling Haaland and Clash of Clans announced an exciting collaboration deal as the Manchester City striker becomes the first person to get a character in the game. Like Neymar on Fortnite, Haaland is expected to earn more than $20 million from this collaboration, starting tomorrow and the promo ending on May 31st. The description of Haaland's involvement in the game reads, "The full Haaland takeover! Recruit him as your Barbarian King—and through limited-time challenges, you can also raid his village. Taking down Haaland on the battlefield nets you sweet rewards like potions and ore, plus a spot on the leaderboards."

The Finnish game developers of Clash of Clans, Supercell, were stunned to hear that Haaland has played the game for more than 10 years and were shocked to see the striker reach out to them about a partnership. Stuart McGaw, general manager of Clash of Clans, spoke about the partnership and said, "When we heard Erling Haaland was a fan of our game and that he wanted to partner with us, it was really a dream scenario."
Haaland spoke about the partnership with the popular mobile game and said, "I’ve been a huge fan of the game for a long time and know everything about it, so to appear as an in-game character is really cool. I think I was around 10 when I discovered Clash. Me and my friends started playing- we've had a lot of fun together."
Neymar had a similar collaboration when he had a playable skin in Fortnite in 2021. The Brazilian star was featured in the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 edition of the game, where players needed to purchase a battle pass to obtain the skin of the player, which included emotes, items, and more.
Many football fans were surprised to see this new collaboration happen since Haaland is not only the first footballer in the game but the first real person in the game. Some fans have said that they will download the game on their phone to see how Haaland is involved. Players like Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish reacted to the announcement on Haaland's Instagram with funny comments.
