Lionel Messi has once again proven why he is considered the greatest footballer of all time. With the conquest of the MLS Supporters' Shield alongside Inter Miami, the Argentine has raised his trophy count to a total of 46 titles, consolidating his position as the most decorated player in football history.

Inter Miami triumphed 2-3 over Columbus Crew in an exciting final, with a brace from Messi and a goal from Luis Suárez. This victory not only gives the Florida team its second title in less than a year but also grants them home-field advantage throughout the MLS playoffs, including a potential final.

Lionel Messi is the most successful player ever

With this new achievement, Messi extends his lead over his closest rival, Brazilian Dani Alves, who has 44 titles. The podium is completed by Egyptian Hossam Ashour with 39, Spaniard Andrés Iniesta with 38, and Brazilian Maxwell with 37.

It's notable that Messi won this new title alongside three of his former Barcelona teammates: Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suárez. The four players have accumulated a total of 14 titles together, though this is the first they celebrate with Inter Miami.

Most of Messi's titles were with Barcelona

The previous 13 titles were won with Barcelona, including four La Liga titles, four Copa del Rey trophies, one Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, two Spanish Super Cups, and one Club World Cup.
