Rumors grew that Jose Mourinho would once again coach Cristiano Ronaldo, but now in Saudi Arabia in Al Nassr. Ben Jacobs reports that this may not be the case anymore as Aramco-owned Al-Qadsiah is targeting Jose Mourinho as their new manager next season. They are about to be promoted and have huge ambitions to challenge the PIF-owned clubs, Al Hilal, Al Ahli, Al Ittihad, and Al Nassr. Mourinho will reportedly be in Khobar in late May. The last time Al Qadsiah was in the Saudi Pro League was in the 2020/2021 season.

Jacobs reported this story and spoke about the situation in which 'the Special One' is looking at options for his next managerial job. Jacobs said, "Nothing is done yet, but he [Mourinho] is their top choice as they look to challenge the PIF-controlled clubs - two of whom are also pushing for Jose. Mourinho is due in Khobar, where [Al] Qadsiah play, in late May as part of a scheduled visit to view the club.”

Mourinho last spoke about his next step as a manager in the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix in March. The Portuguese manager said, "I want to work, but I just don’t want to have the wrong decision. I have to wait for the right one, the one that motivates me. But if I could work tomorrow I would work tomorrow." Mourinho was seen with Newcastle United chairman Al Rumayyan, who is the chairman of Amarco, the club owners of Al Qadsiah. Mourinho could expect to earn a very high salary since the Saudi Pro League has been insisting the Portuguese manager join the league to coach a club there.

Ronaldo to face Mourinho as an opponent next season?

Many rumors suggested that Ronaldo could potentially leave Al Nassr soon, but if Mourinho arrives this summer with Al Qadsiah, the two will see each other once again but as rivals. The Saudi Arabian club, who will soon get promoted to the Saudi Pro League, may bring some important players to the squad if Mourinho does become the new coach, which would mean more competition for Ronaldo and Al Nassr.
