Why Kylian Mbappé wants to sue a journalist and former friend for defamation

Journalist Daniele Riolo wrote on RMC Sport: "We have an example of a player who has been told for years that he is surrounded by perfect people. That is Kylian Mbappe. Today I will not share any revelations and I will speak in subjunctive mode, but he has to be careful. The things that are starting to circulate around him are not very clear. Mbappé must not lose control of his environment. He is a prodigy of French soccer to whom everything is going well, but he has done two or three stupid things lately. He has to be more careful because there are bad things around him."

The quote was posted on RMC Sport's Twitter account, but then quickly deleted. A social media user managed to take a screenshot of the post and, after it disappeared, wrote about the censorship at RMC Sport.

In a comment on the matter, Mbappe's mother came out and wrote: "You were right to remove this post because we are considering taking legal action for defamation against these journalists and their informant, who is none other than Mbappé’s former friend. You are starting to go too far”.

She continued: “His name is Sabri. And it is true that Kylian and his entourage have suspended this man. He knows why. This could be a great example when it comes to an entourage. So please feel free to write [about Kylian], but report the facts and the truth. Thank you.”

Mbappé’s lawyers are investigating the matter

Following these tweets, L'Équipe contacted the soccer player's mother who said that the idea of going to court was Mbappé’s. The striker's lawyers are now working on the matter.
