The decision by France Football magazine to leave Lionel Messi out of the 30 contenders for the Ballon d'Or is still startling. However, the Guinness World Records recognized "La Pulga" and declared him to be the best player in the world, after the prestigious award chose to overlook him.

The maximum Ballon d'Or winner was not on the magazine's list of contenders for the coveted award a few days ago. Messi’s football always speaks for itself though, and he has been showing that he still belongs among the best with a great start to the new season.
