Didier Deschamps has defended Mbappé once more. The French national team coach stated that the striker is doing his job and he's not worried about his performance on the pitch as he knows what the frenchman is capable of.

Statistics, however, contradict the words from the coach as Mbappé has not been able to participate fully and effectively with PSG or the French national team. He's had zero assists this season with PSG although he's received 5 from Messi and 3 from Mbappé.

Mbappé had several attempts in the match against Denmark but he was unable to finish them properly. An outstanding performance from Kasper Schmeichel prevented the french striker from scoring on several occasions. Mbappé was visibly frustrated and angry at the team's performance throughout the game.

In spite of his poor game, Deschamps defended Mbappé and even attacked some of his teammates stating that there's things he doesn't want to see ever again from several players. It seems Kylian Mbappé has protectors in PSG and the French national team.

Mbappé's stats and Deschamp's attacks

Deschamps declared strictly towards Eduardo Camavinga, Real Madrid's midfielder, stating that he got ‘traits he doesn’t want to see ever again'. His performance on the pitch was somewhat flawed but he made it work and seemed nervous in his interventions. Mbappé however, played the full 90 minutes of the match, missed 4 chances, he's got 0 assists in Nations league, 45 passes each 90 minutes, and a 20% precision in long passes to the area.
