PSG stars, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe are currently on international duty with their respective countries. Mbappe’s France has sealed a place in the round of 16 as the forward has scored three goals while providing an assist in the on-going FIFA world cup in Qatar. France last game is against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, a good omen for Mbappe if not rested.
Meanwhile, Messi’s Argentina is still struggling to get into the round of 16 after a surprising defeat to Saudi Arabia and an impressive 2-0 victory against stubborn Mexico. Messi has two goals to his name and an assist so far in the competition in Qatar. There is a certain Poland in the last group game waiting for Argentina.

PSG started its 2022/2023 season in a good fashion with a 4-0 victory over FC Nantes in the Trophee des Champions to scoop the silverware. The team also started brightly in the French Ligue 1 with a 5-0 victory at Clermont Foot. Coincidentally, 5-0 win was also the result against AJ Auxere, the last game before Qatar 2022 world cup.
Since signing for PSG in 2021, Messi has not been the point man and have to be the playmaker, nevertheless, the Argentine has scored 12 goals while Mbappe has punctured the net 19 times for PSG this season. Despite their impressive contributions there are reports of Mbappe dictating some affairs of the French club.
Messi has won the UEFA Champions League four times with Barcelona, the only trophy why PSG is splashing the cash on stars. It is crystal clear that Messi at 35 years of age is playing towards the end of his career. There are reports PSG want to make him the highest paid player in the team amid reports of exit. But that may not go down well with Mbappe.
