Real Madrid will jump right into the sixth week of La Liga’s tournament as they will face Atletico Madrid for the Classic Metropolitan Derby in order to achieve their sixth straight victory and keep their undefeated streak alive and also displace FC Barcelona from the leadership of the standings.
Real Madrid hasn’t lost any of their five consecutive matchups of the Spanish tournament, its last encounter vs Real Sociedad was a good test to see if they really need their major two key players (Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao), the good news is that they will count once again with young Brazilian striker, Vinicius Jr., for the Spanish Derby.
Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, hasn’t seen better days, as they struggle to be in the top 10 of the standings as they only have seven points made, with two victories, one draw and one defeat.
The kickoff is set to start at 3:00 pm ET/ 12:00 pm PT at Civitas Metropolitan Stadium. You’ll be able to watch the Spanish Derby via streaming on FuboTv or if you wish to broadcast it on your television ESPN+ will offer the LIVE coverage of the game.
As we said before, Real Madrid won’t count once again with Thibaut Cuortois and Eder Militao as they are still recovering from a torn ACL surgery; Dani Carvajal is expected to also be sidelined, nevertheless, Vinicius Jr. has been activated from the injury reserve list before the expected.
Atletico Madrid has only won one of their last 14 Spanish Derbies against Real Madrid, however, they have scored in their last 11, Atletico comes from a great 3-0 victory last week against Valencia CF. Sergio Reguilon remains injured, and Stefan Savic, Jose Maria Gimenez and Thomas Lemar are in doubts to be present for the Spanish Derby.
