This season for Lionel Messi has been completely different from what happened last year when he departed Barcelona. When he arrived the press was eager to see what would the Paris Saint Germain striker achieve. Nevertheless, in their first season, they failed to overcome the most important test of the season. 

They failed to win in the round of 16 in the Champions League against Real Madrid. Even if the French club had a 2-goal difference, the French giants failed miserably to defend that advantage during the last half hour and Real Madrid eliminated them by scoring three goals.

It's clear who is the new favorite of the french press and it's not the World Cup winner.
