No one is safe from criticism in France, not even Lionel Messi, who has been at the center of criticism for the last 24 hours. The most interesting thing is that this time, it is not a criticism related to football, but rather about the environment and the earth´s health.

Lionel Messi´s PSG often travel on a plane, which is known to be expensive and harmful for the environment. For that reason, Krakovitch, director of the French railway company, was indignant and explained that there are high-speed trains in his railway company, so there´s no need to abuse on the plane flights.

An NGO against Lionel Messi?

An NGO called ATTAC, reported that “from June to August, Lionel Messi traveled up to 52 times with his private plane, in other words, around 1,502 tons of carbon dioxide”. According to the NGO, that consumed amount of CO2, is what an average french man would consume in up to 150 years of lifetime.
