Manchester United agreed a fee that could reach 85 million pounds (100 million dollars) to acquire the services of Antony, the Brazilian striker of Ajax Amsterdam, according to British media.

The Premier League club has reportedly agreed to pay 80.75 million pounds, plus 4.25 million pounds for various add-ons, BBC, Sky Sports and other British media reported, as the transfer window closes on Thursday.

After the arrival of Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez, Antony, 22, would be the second player to follow in the footsteps of coach Erik ten Hag, who left the Dutch Championship for Old Trafford.

This is bad news for Cristiano Ronaldo, as he has been a substitute for United in the start of the season and the addition of Antony would further limit his playing time with the Red Devils. A move for Cristiano Ronaldo looks almost impossible as the transfer window closes in a few days.

Man United’s moves this summer

In the current window, Tyrell Malacia, Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro joined the Red Devils, and Erik ten Hag is confident of keeping Cristiano Ronaldo despite the Portuguese's desire to leave the club to play in the Champions League.
