The Manchester United manager acknowledged that the the Portuguese gave the team a boost, but that he is not fit for a full game.

Manchester United started another Premier League season in disappointment, losing to Brighton (2-1) in a gray day for the team.

Everything seems wrapped up in the Cristiano Ronaldo saga, who was on the bench and came on in the second half to look for the comeback. After he tried to force his way out of United as much as he could, now all indications are that he will remain at Old Trafford.

The Premier League player that could become the most expensive defender ever

Ten Hag was forced to call on ‘CR7’ to change his team’s outlook and, although their efforts were not enough, the Dutchman was happy with what he saw from the Portuguese on the pitch. "I think we improved with him. It's clear that in the second half we were better in midfield with Eriksen lower down and Cristiano up top. We created chances and Rashford had two really clear ones. It's a shame we didn't equalize."

However, we still have to wait to see him in the starting lineup as he has been training less than the rest of his teammates. "You can't force him. He's had a week of training, so it's little, he has to do more to get fit. Now we have a week ahead of us and he'll be better next week."

Will Ronaldo stay in Manchester?

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future seems to be in United but nothing is for certain. As his agent continues to look for a way out for Ronaldo, who wants —above anything else— to continue to play for a team in the Champions League.
