"My Liverpool is not Klopp's Liverpool, I had 20 million to sign": Rafa Benitez slams club's current situation

After Liverpool's heavy defeat in the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid, the Reds have been in a downward spiral and if anyone knows what it means to take the reins of this team it is Rafa Benítez, who spoke out about the current situation of the club and said: "My Liverpool is not Klopp's, I had 20 million to sign".

What Rafa Benitez said about Liverpool's current situation

The Spanish coach said about Liverpool: "You can't compare my Liverpool and Klopp's Liverpool because you have to analyze the contexts. I had a budget of 20 million, 20! Tell me now with 20 million what Liverpool can sign? Nothing. They are signing 40 million players for the bench".

And Benitez's criticism of the club's current situation is well-founded, as at the time, with a much smaller budget, Benitez and his Liverpool side won a UEFA Champions League, coming from 3-0 down to beat Milan in a feat that became known as "The Miracle of Istanbul". 

As a result, the manager pointed out how outrageous the amounts Liverpool now invests in the team are and that despite doing so, the team ended up without the titles they most wanted at the start of the season.
