In todays match between Ecuadors National Team vs Uruguays towards CONMEBOL eliminations for 2026 World Cup, a very young talent, of only 16 years old, shined today with a great assist for Félix Torres, in order to score the second goal against Uruguay, where they lost 2-1 to the ecuatorians.

By the final moments of the match, at the top left side of the Ecuatorian attack, Caicedo passes the ball to the young promise, Kendry Páez, and within each centimeter closer, the 16 year old shoots a centre to Félix Torres, so he can score his second and final goal of the match.

Kendry Páez has already made history for the book by breaking Jorge Bolaños record for being the youngest player to debut for Ecuadors National Team (16 years and 167 days), Páez is only 16 years old with 135 days.

Nevertheless, Páez couldn´t break Diego Maradonas debut record (15 years, 11 months and 20 days).

A day he will remember

For Páez, this will be a long day remembered, thanks to the records he could brake during his debut in the Ecuatorian National Team and his short professional run.

He debuted at pro level with Independiente Valle, he played CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores where he won 2-1 over Corinthias Brazil, a top A team in the southamerican league; he showed up at Southamerican Sub-17 and was named as top talent at the Next generation Trophy; and played at World Cup Sub-20 where he scored a goal and assisted for three more.

And besides, he will join with Mosises Caicedo in just two years at Chelsea, where he has been granted with a professional contract for 17.27 million pounds (about 22 million dollars) when he turns up 18 years old. Páez is meant for greatness if he is thaught well troughout his journey to Europe.
