Despite having a stellar start at the ongoing World Cup for France, Kylian Mbappe has run into difficulties with the world football governing body, FIFA. The bad news Mbappe receives just one day before crucial match

FIFA regulations requires Man of the Match award winners to address the media following the match, the 23-year-old shunned the scheduled interview to the surprise of the press. No punishment was given to him or his country. Before the 2-1 win over Denmark, FIFA sounded a note of warning to both Mbappe and the French Football Federation (FFF) and made them aware of what would happen if the forward did it again.

However, Mbappe repeated the offense despite the threat by FIFA. He has reportedly decided against speaking to the media because he knows he'll most certainly be questioned about his stay at PSG. For his action, Mbappe and the FFF will split the fine that will be imposed by FIFA. Despite his alleged dissatisfaction with the French giants, these inquiries may distract him throughout the World Cup. However, his silence toward the media will not go unpunished.

What is next for Mbappe?

Despite only participating in his second World Cup, he has increased his goal total to seven, moving him into second place after Just Fontaine in terms of goals scored in the tournament. In spite of  the impending penalty, he will continue to play a significant role for France as they attempt to defend their title in Qatar throughout the remaining matches of this year's tournament.
