Mbappé could leave PSG in 2024 and this is what the club will do with Lionel Messi

Mbappé may have just betrayed the French fans. Recently it has come to light that the World Cup winner, Kylian Mbappé didn't actually sign a 3 year contract extension with Paris Saint Germain, but the third year could be optional and he can negotiate his transfer to another club after two years.  Meaning he could get out of the French team way before everyone believed he could.

This could make Nasser Al-Khelaïfi's project crumble as he and his team want to be Champions of Europe and lift the Champions League trophy that so far has been denied to them. Nevertheless, Mbappé may be the most expensive player on their team but is not the most important overall.

We could argue that at the beginning of the season, Neymar and Lionel Messi have been more important than the French player. And for Messi, this year is particularly important not only because of the World Cup but also because his contract ends next summer. So, if the doesn't get a renewal, he could negotiate with any club. 

What does PSG want to do with Messi?

Even though Luis Campos could leave PSG for a position as Chelsea's sporting director, he is still interested in keeping Messi in Paris. So he had approached an early negotiation with the Argentinian legend for a contract extension of two more years. So far, Messi is only focused on Qatar and he hasn't decided what he'll do in the summer. Will he return to Barcelona or stay in París? Only time will tell.
