As reported by French newspaper L'Equipe, Manchester United have contacted PSG to inquire about the situation of Leandro Paredes with the intention of reinforcing their midfield for next season.
The possible transfer of Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona is looking more complicated every day and the English club is already looking for alternatives.
The Argentine midfielder is one of PSG's discards for this summer transfer window. He does not fit in Christophe Galtier's plans and the arrival of Vitinha (plus that of Renato Sanches, who is close to closing) has taken away more space within the first team. His departure is imminent, considering that the player wants to have continuity for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
On the other hand, Manchester United needs to strengthen its midfield because they do not have a midfielder who can organize the team with the ball, which is key in Erik Ten Hag's game plan. Leandro Paredes is an option that the Dutch coach likes a lot to possibly partner with Frenkie de Jong, who is the club's main target for next season and with whom they are negotiating to try to close his transfer.
The problem with bringing him in is that PSG are asking for €35 million to let him leave, a price that Manchester United feel is too high. Juventus is another club interested in acquiring his services, but they are also far from making an offer that can meet the demands of the Parisian side. The talks look set to be complicated, but everything could change in the coming days.
