Luka Modric has had a remarkable career at Real Madrid, spanning 11 seasons during which he has won nearly every major title, including the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, La Liga, Copa del Rey, among others. On an individual level, he proudly boasts a Ballon d'Or award from 2018.

However, at 37 years old, Modric is starting to feel the effects of age, and he finds himself in a squad filled with young talent.

As a result, he hasn't received many minutes on the pitch so far this season. Just this past June, Modric renewed his contract with Real Madrid for an additional year. According to Marca, the former Tottenham star turned down a $214 million offer from Neymar's Al Hilal.

With only 131 minutes played in four league matches, Modric himself is not entirely comfortable with the situation, and he voiced his concerns.

Modric's message to Ancelotti

In an interview with the Polish newspaper Sportske Novoste, the Croatian international expressed his frustration about not being a regular starter in Carlo Ancelotti's lineup: “No one is happy when they don't play. After my entire career, this feeling is completely strange to me” he said. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that the manager makes the decisions and that he won't let the situation affect him negatively. However, Modric also took a swipe at his situation and explained why he didn't accept the offer from the Saudi Arabian club:
