Last year we saw something obvious. Paris Saint Germain wants to win the UEFA Champions League. But this doesn't seem very close. Despite reaching a final in 2020 (and losing to Bayern Munich) the team last season was overtaken by circumstances.

Last year against Real Madrid the French monarchs showed that they were a team to be feared. Especially now that Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Mbappé are on the pitch. But they only managed to win the Spanish team game. Of course, they even took away advantage in the second fixture, and until the 60th minute, they were going to go to the quarterfinals.

But they did not know how to defend the advantage. A hurricane formed in the Spanish capital and only on average they scored three goals that would eliminate the French team from the Champions League. Real Madrid would later become the champion of the tournament. This showed that PSG urgently needed another defender so that it does not happen again.

For this reason, since the last transfer market, the PSG board has been looking for more defenses for the team. One of the most popular on the wishlist is Inter Milan's Skriniar, however, there has been no progress with those negotiations and now the team will look elsewhere.

Mohamed Simakan is on PSG's agenda

PSG will now turn to center-back Mohamed Simakan from RB Leipzig according to recent reports. But they will have stiff competition to sign the player since the Italian team, AC Milan, also wants him in his team. This week the defender assisted eleven in his team's win over Celtic in the Champions League.
