Barça is focused on securing the signings of the two full-backs it needs to complete its summer project. The chosen ones, since the beginning of the plans, are Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta and the club hopes to advance in the negotiations this week, the operations have not been easy.
At the beginning of July, Chelsea asked for 25 million euros to get rid of the two players during the visit of the new owner of the London club, Tood Boehly, to Barcelona. Barça are not even considering paying that figure for two players who want to join the club and who have only one year left on their contracts.

The end of Piqué in Barcelona? The player that would end his career in Barça
Chelsea have always opened the door to Barça to negotiate, although they wanted to impose their conditions. In the meantime, the Blaugrana club has been keeping the two players on their toes and preventing them from talking to other teams. Both Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso have made a great effort to keep their word of wanting to sign for Barça and the club is clear that they are not going to let them go.
In principle, Barça would like to undertake the two operations separately, as they have different conditions. And they believe that Chelsea have been dragging their feet until they have signed their replacements to let them leave.
Marcos Alonso now has a replacement in the shape of Cucurella, while Chelsea are now looking to sign Fofana to close their defense. There should be news in the coming days, but Barça expect each to leave for a fee of less than €10 million. Tuchel will open the door for them at the request of the players themselves.
