Since the Dutch manager arrived at Old Trafford, many things had happened. First, controversy about whether Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo could leave the club just after one season. Since Manchester United contacted Erik ten Hag, it was reported that the coach wanted Ronaldo out of the squad.

In the end, Cristiano also wanted to part ways with Manchester United because they weren't able to classify to the UEFA Champions League this season. Unfortunately, they were only able to get into the UEFA Europa League. This is the first time Ronaldo has participated in such a competition, but Man. Utd. is already just to it since Alex Ferguson's retirement.

Jorge Mendes approached German champions Bayern Munich, league rivals Chelsea, and even French giants Paris Saint Germain, but none of them wanted the striker.

200 million Euros for transfers

In the end, ten Hag had to keep Cristiano. Maybe he is just waiting for his contract to expire. But in the meanwhile, the coach has already talked to the board and according to the England press, they have approved 200 million Euros for transfers. Maybe with this quantity, they could try to sign ten Hag's favorite midfielder: Frankie de Jong.
