He arrived and promised a lot to Barcelona's fans, his flop is now outrageous

FC Barcelona started their signings spree last winter. They looked desperately for a replacement to Messi and they were in no position to bargain for goals as they needed them to lift up a couple of disastrous seasons.

This is when Pep Guardiola and FC Barcelona made a deal for the young promising striker City had started to use in Premier League, Ferran Torres. This Spanish forward had contributed to Guardiola's time with Manchester City in a great manner coming off the bench and contributed with 18 goals in 41 matches with the citizens.

However, upon his move to Barcelona, Ferran Torres began seeing little to no action and when he did step on to the pitch, he missed a lot and didn't have the game vision to provide assists to his teammates. Although he was a European Champion with Spain in under 19 and under 17 tournaments, he started to fail to meet expectations.

The reality behind his time in Barcelona is defined with one word: Flop. His numbers for the Catalan club are nowhere near sufficient and he's now on the bench waiting for opportunities that he doesn't make the best out of. This season has been more of the same, Torres has 7 games, 1 goal and 1 assist for Barcelona.

Possible replacements for Ferran Torres

Barcelona has a lack of players that can be consistent and provide for the team. There's Ansu Fati who's proven efficient whenever on the pitch and makes the team more dynamic and faster. There's also Dembélé, who's currently injured but will soon return to take his position and of course, Raphinha who is currently a starter and has proven to be more effective than Torres in every way.
