Since his return to Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has not had things go the way he probably expected. In addition to the uncertainty about his future, there is the team's bad soccer moment and now there is also a legal aspect: the Portuguese player received a "conditional caution" from the British police for a minor assault on an Everton fan, which occurred last April.
During the visit to Everton, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for Manchester United, Ronaldo, who left the pitch injured with a cut on his leg, lashed out at a 14-year-old fan who was filming him: on the way to the tunnel to the changing rooms, he snatched his cell phone out of his hands and threw it to the ground. The images went viral and, months later, the action had consequences.

Borussia Dortmund president spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo rumors
Through a statement on Wednesday, Merseyside Police reported: "We can confirm that a 37-year-old man appeared and was interviewed under caution in relation to an alleged assault and criminal damage. The allegations relate to an incident following the soccer match between Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park on Saturday, April 9."
The day after the episode, Cristiano Ronaldo publicly apologized to the assaulted boy and invited him to watch a match at Old Trafford "as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship". However, the boy wanted nothing to do with CR7's offer.
"Just because he's Cristiano Ronaldo? Why would we do that? He acted like we owed him a favor, but I'm sorry, that's not the case. We politely declined the offer to go to United because Jake doesn't want to go there and he doesn't want to see Ronaldo," argued Sarah Kelly, the boy's mother, adding: "Why should he travel to Old Trafford? Why would a Blue want to visit a Red? If he was honest, I think he should have turned around at the time of the incident, picked up Jake's phone and said, ‘I'm sorry’.
