FC Barcelona is listening to all the proposals that arrive for Frenkie De Jong, as they are willing to let him go in this market in order to improve their finances and also to relieve their wage bill as the Dutchman has an 'in crescendo' contract and every season he spends with Barcelona his wages continue to rise.

The player was not necessarily at his best this past season and with the revelations of Pedri and Gavi, Xavi feels the midfield is in good hands going forward. So De Jong’s possible departure would not be such a hard blow at the Camp Nou. Xavi has other objectives in mind, and a sale of the player would not be the worst thing for Barça.

According to reports, negotiations between Barcelona and Manchester United have been stalled in recent weeks and Frenkie’s move to Old Trafford complicates more every day. But reports out of London have assured that in the Premier League he would have another high level suitor, Chelsea. The ‘Blues’ would be willing to put a large amount of money to sign the young Dutch midfielder. Frenkie De Jong is very much liked by Thomas Tuchel, who wants stability in his midfield and it seems that he has given the go-ahead for Chelsea to make moves.

Interest at Stamford Bridge

FC Barcelona have several targets at Chelsea as both Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta are on Xavi Hernandez's wish list, two players that the London team could use to convince them of the transfer of Frenkie De Jong. Obviously all would be individual operations since the Catalan club has made it clear that it will only accept the departure of the Dutchman in exchange for about 80 million euros, will not accept exchanges or discounts of any kind.

Barça seeks to appease its financial problems with the possible transfer of De Jong.
