Messi is having a phenomenal season so far. After a bittersweet reunion with the Brazilian star Neymar, it seems Argentina's number 10 is finally settled in his new team in the French league. With Paris Saint Germain he had a decent season last year. But we all know he failed to get them to the next level in the Champions League.

If we talk about statistics, Messi showed he still had something to give to football. In 34 games he scored 11 goals and assisted on 15 occasions in all competitions. Also, he played more than 2800 minutes during the whole season. But somehow it seems the World Cup unleashed one of the best players in history.

Just this season, the Argentine has already scored eight goals and assisted the same amount in only 13 games played. Showing that he must be feared no matter if he is playing in France with Paris Saint Germain or in the World Cup with Argentina. It's just a matter of time to know if he will get finally the most important trophy in football.

Barcelona would receive Messi with open arms says Vicepresident

In a recent interview, Eduard Romeu has spoken out loud that he believes Messi could make a comeback for the last dance with Barcelona next season. "It would be possible financially because if he returned it would be as a free agent," Romeu said. "But it's a decision which has to be made by the coaching staff and the player. It doesn't correspond to me but it would be viable."
