FC Barcelona continues to work on improving its economic conditions in order to achieve its main objective, the creation of a team that aspires to fight for all the titles it contests. For this goal, the azulgranas have been working for months, being able to appease their financial situation, allowing Barça to bid for very important players, among which Raphinha, the talented winger of Leeds United, stands out.

The Culés have lived a difficult saga with the renewal of Ousmane Dembélé, and no one expected the turn that the Frenchman's situation has taken, going from being one of Barça's assured discards to renewing with the azulgrana team, he will sign until 2024.

That is why the Catalans were urgently looking for the arrival of a quality winger, Raphinha was the most liked option in the Blaugrana camp.

Dembélé's renewal and Leeds' huge asking price could push Raphinha away from Barça

However, the imminent renewal of Ousmane Dembélé with FC Barcelona could move Raphinha away from his desire to sign with the azulgrana team. Now, according to 'Mundo Deportivo', Barça could give priority to the signings of both Robert Lewandowski and Jules Koundé, since the amount of 70 million euros demanded by Leeds would prevent or further complicate the arrival of either of these players, also important for Xavi Hernandez.

With Dembélé's renewal, it makes no sense for FC Barcelona to embark on a disadvantageous negotiation in which it has much to lose and little to gain. Barça cannot make past mistakes with its economy in a critical state. They have to invest that huge amount of budget in more necessary and less risky arrivals. Raphinha is a great player and no one can argue that, but 70 million euros is perhaps too high a price for the Leeds United player. A price that, undoubtedly, Barça could not pay if they want to sign other players that, now, seem more important.
