According to the CIES Football Observatory of Switzerland, Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid. Erling Haaland and Vinicius Junior round out the top three, all worth more than 250MM. Apparently, the model takes into account the age, length of contract, career progression and international status on the part of the players. However, inflation levels and the sporting and economic level of the clubs in which they play are also considered.
The most notable news for Manchester United fans is that they have five players represented on the list. The first United player to appear is Marcus Rashford in 14th place with a value of 137MM. Despite being ranked first as the most valuable player by the same organization in the past, the English striker still impressively outperforms giant global names like Kylian Mbappé and Declan Rice in 2024.
One would imagine that the French star's lower rating is related to the fact that he has entered the final six months of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. You have to scroll down to 41st place to find the next Red Devil and the new striker, Rasmus Hojlund, who is worth an estimated 10MM. The last United player in the top 50 is another young attacker, Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine has a supposed value of 94.5MM.
Club captain Bruno Fernandes is 61st on the list with a value of 85.5MM and is fending off competition from the likes of Éder Militão and Leroy Sané. The last Red Devil on the list is a surprise and many United fans will surely be perplexed by his inclusion. The much maligned Antony occupies 72nd place on the list with a supposed value of 80.1 million euros.
To put that in context, the Brazilian is ranked above all of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jack Grealish, Joao Pedro and Anthony Gordon. It will be interesting to see how United's player values rise or fall over the next year and a lot will be related to the team's success on the field. Man United fans will be looking out for names like Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw and Andre Onana to feature on the list next year if things go to plan over the next 12 months.
