An unfair red card for Rudy Camacho brings Inter Miami closer to victory

Lionel Messi once again took center stage in Major League Soccer, scoring a brilliant brace to guide Inter Miami to a 2-0 victory over Columbus Crew. This win put Gerardo Martino's team within reach of claiming the Supporters' Shield.

Inter Miami had taken the lead

Five minutes later, Messi showcased his magic again. From a free kick at the edge of the box, the Argentine curled the ball perfectly into the bottom right corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. This goal marked Messi's 30th in 34 games with Inter Miami, making him the top scorer in the league.

After the break, Columbus responded quickly, with Diego Rossi pulling one back for the home side, igniting hope among the Crew fans. But shortly after, Luis Suárez, another Uruguayan on the pitch, dashed their hopes by scoring to make it 3-1 for Miami.

Columbus fought back, with 'Cucho' Hernández converting a penalty to narrow the gap. However, the home side soon faced a major setback when their defensive leader, Rudy Camacho, was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

This decision by the referee was unjust, as the incident leading to Camacho’s second yellow did not warrant such a harsh punishment. At no point did he act aggressively toward his opponent. Unfortunately, the referee saw it differently, making a mistake by sending the player off.
