When Giovani dos Santos debuted, he was called to be one of the best Mexican players in history, as his talent was unmatched. That made him arrive at FC Barcelona academy teams and debut in one of the best rosters that the Blaugranas have had in their history.

But his talent wasn’t enough to keep him playing in the top teams, as he lacked the discipline to become one of the best players in the world. His figure kept fading as he kept changed teams season after season, until he arrived in MLS as one of the top players of the league.
When he joined LA Galaxy, it seemed like he found the stability he’d lacked his whole career, as it was the first time that he played for more than two seasons with the same team. But before the 2019 season started, the Galaxy decided to not continue the relationship.
It took him six months to find a new team, as he joined Club América for the 2019-20 season, where he played two seasons before Las Águilas decided to not renew his contract as he couldn’t find the regularity needed to play for one of Liga MX’s biggest teams.
When América decided to part ways with him, the older of the Dos Santos brothers didn’t expect to be without a team for a long time, but now that’s been almost a year, he’s started looking to keep regularity by training with a few teams.
The latest team on his list is Inter Miami, as he was seen training in The Herons facilities with hopes of convincing David Beckham and Jorge Mas to sign him, as he already knows the MLS works and has the talent to improve their roster.
But if Inter Miami were to sign him, he wouldn’t receive a salary near the $3 million that he used to earn in Club América, as according to the MLS Players Association, the average salary for a player in the United States’ top flight is of $700,000 per season.
The Herons could use some help from Gio, as they have played six games in the 2022 MLS Season without any luck, as they are standing last in the East Conference. So far, they have lost four games, tied one, and the barely managed to win their first game this Saturday, with the comeback 3-2 against New England Revolution.
