A few years ago, he was one of the most promising Mexican players and had everything to jump from Liga MX to a European club. Reports even suggest that CF Pachuca bought Estudiantes Tecos back in the day just because it was cheaper than acquiring his lone economical rights.

But after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, when he was ready to leave Liga MX to start a journey in Europe -he was linked to Manchester United for a couple of seasons- he decided to join Liga MX side Tigres, as they offered more money to Pachuca and a higher salary for him.

Instead of making the jump to Europe, Jürgen Damm decided to continue his career in MLS, as he joined Atlanta United as a free agent in 2020. But now, prior the beginning of the 2022 MLS Season and his third year with ATL UTD, he won’t be part of the Five Stripes as the coach is not considering him.

 

What will Damm do now?

Although the 29-year-old right-winger is still under contract with Atlanta, he currently faces a tough decision, as he doesn’t have any offers to join another MLS team but can’t leave ATL UTD until his contract ends or if they rescind it. For now, he’ll have to wait to see what Atlanta decides on his future.
