Mexican soccer player Jonathan Dos Santos is on the radar of at least two Liga MX teams and one MLS team ahead of each league's tournament in 2022.
This possibility is open because the Mexico international's contract with Los Angeles Galaxy ended this December, and the Californian team decided not to renew it, so Dos Santos is a free agent and any team looking to sign him can do so for free, as long as they reach a price for the player.
The first contender for the player's services is Monterrey, a team from the north of the country that has been eliminated in the last two tournaments and is looking to renew itself for the Clausura 2022.
In addition to this tournament, the Rayados will have to face their commitment in the FIFA Club World Cup 2022, to be played in the United Arab Emirates in February.
For these reasons, Monterrey is the first team that has already prepared the checkbook to get the former Barcelona youth player.
The other team looking to sign Dos Santos is America, one of the most powerful teams in the tournament and one that has vast experience in bringing top-level signings to Mexican soccer.
Las Aguilas had a great tournament and showed their hegemony in Liga MX by staying in first place in the overall standings until the end of the tournament.
Unfortunately for them, the playoffs pitted them against Pumas, who broke that hegemony and eliminated the club in the Liguilla, which explains the urgency of the Coapa club to keep Jonathan dos Santos.
But these Liga MX clubs are not the only ones who see Jona as an opportunity to revitalize their team.
In MLS, they also want the former Los Angeles Galaxy player to stay for another tournament and the team that yearns for this opportunity is the Houston Dynamo.
The Texan team has space for two franchise players and they want the midfielder to be one of them.
And it would not be strange if Jonathan Dos Santos decides to stay in MLS because his salary could be higher in this league than in Liga MX.
It's no surprise to anyone that Jonathan Dos Santos has had the best time of his playing career in MLS.
The midfielder began his professional career with Luis Enrique's Barcelona, but between injuries and his poor performance, he ended up losing the confidence of the club in which he played just 3 games.
His next stop in his European adventure was Villarreal, where he played 88 games and scored 4 goals.
But his performance would improve when he arrived at the Galaxy.
This is where Jona's talent really exploded. In his time with the Californian team, Dos Santos would finally have the opportunity to make his name.
And he made the most of it: the midfielder played in 103 official matches, scoring a total of 6 goals and dishing out 12 assists.
In this way he managed to become a reference point for the club and the fans.
And it has been because of this brutal performance that teams from Liga MX and MLS are after him.
In which league would you like to see him play?
