The 31-year-old brings his experience to MLS as he boasts more than 400 professional appearances and 21 trophies won in several top professional leagues in Brazil, Germany, Italy, and Ukraine.

In his last stint with Grêmio, the team that also saw him born as a professional soccer player, Costa scored three goals and provided two assists in 26 games played (20 starts) in the 2021 campaign.

After emerging from the Brazilian team, Costa's next stop was at Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, where he scored 38 goals and 40 assists in 203 games played (134 starts) in six seasons in all competitions.

But not only that, the player helped Shakhtar win five Ukrainian Premier League titles, before migrating to Bayern Munich of the German Bundesliga, where he stayed for two seasons (2015-17) and totaled eight goals and 13 assists in 50 league games (37 starts).

With this club, Costa's performance was solid as he contested the UEFA Champions League with Bayern, playing 20 games (15 starts) and totaling four goals and five assists.

In his first season with the Germans, Costa helped the Bavarian club win two Bundesliga league titles (2015-16, 2016-17) and the DFB-Pokal (2015-16), Germany's domestic cup competition.

Costa would then be loaned to Juventus wherein in all competitions during his time at Juventus (2017-20), Costa recorded 21 assists and 10 goals in 103 games played.

Douglas Costa already lived with Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez

The Brazilian and the Mexican player have already met and lived together at the LA Galaxy since Costa is already at the team's facilities to begin his training.

The player joined his new club's training today and "Chicharito" did not ask for the opportunity to greet and welcome him.

In a video clip shared on the team's social networks, Hernández Balcázar can be seen greeting the Brazilian and telling him: "Welcome, it's about time, we were waiting for you".

With this pair of players, the club led by Greg Vanney will seek to shake rival defenses and regain the prominence they have lost over the years.
