With less than two months until the 2022 MLS Season starts, teams are still building their squads in hopes of becoming champions at the end of the season. And that’s exactly what LA Galaxy is planning on doing.

After a disappointing season where they couldn’t reach the playoffs, the 5 times MLS champion is planning a full restructure that already started with Jonathan dos Santos departure. But now, the Galaxy will try to add a starting player that is still on his prime.
Montpellier FC’s captain, Téji Savanier is getting closer to becoming a Galactic, after playing one of his best seasons as a professional footballer. LA Galaxy is looking to emulate what Tigres did when they acquired Gignac or what most recently Toronto did by signing Lorenzo Insigne.

Unlike Gignac or Insigne, as both signed as free agents, the 30-year-old French midfielder is still under contract with Montpellier until 2023, which means the Los Angeles team would have to pay at least $13.6 million if they want to acquire Savanier’s economic rights.
