Club Deportivo Guadalajara, better known as Chivas, is considered one of the big 4 in Liga MX, along with Pumas UNAM, Cruz Azul and Club America. However, they have not been able to show that greatness to Querétaro.
This is because of the 31 duels that both teams have played in the tournament, 13 have been won by the Gallos Blancos, compared to only 10 victories by Chivas.
In addition, both teams have tied 8 times, and not even the home advantage has helped Chivas to break this streak, as they have only won 6 times against Querétaro, compared to the 8 victories that the Gallos Blancos have won at the Omnilife Stadium.
Chivas have not even been able to get a draw out of Los Gallos at the Omnilife, and the last time they met, which was on September 29, 2021, with a 1-0 defeat.
The specialized websites consider Chivas to be the sure winner of the match, undoubtedly due to the momentum gained by the Rebaño Sagrado in their debut in Liga MX 2022.
For the website FC Tables.com, Chivas will win the match with a 56 percent probability. Queretaro, on the other hand, has only an 18 percent chance of winning the match.
And a draw is an even more complicated possibility as it only has a 25 percent chance of occurring.
So everything looks set for Chivas to break Queretaro's stranglehold on them, and finally change their history against the Gallos Blancos in Liga MX 2022.
The Rebaño Sagrado had a dream debut in Liga MX 2022 with a 3-0 win over Mazatlán FC, giving them confidence for their next matches in the tournament.
Marcelo Michel Leaño's team, however, ran into the Tuzos of Pachuca and their luck changed.
Will they manage to get back on track after this setback?
The Gallos Blancos had a terrible start to Liga MX 2022 as in their first match they drew 0-0 with Monterrey in a duel in which they lacked effectiveness.
In fact, the star of that match was goalkeeper Washington Aguerre, who saved the Gallos Blancos' goal from the Rayados' constant onslaught.
However, in the match against Pumas UNAM, the goalkeeper could not do much as the Auriazules were on a winning streak and beat them 3-1.
It even seemed in the first half that Querétaro could beat Pumas UNAM when Ángel Sepúlveda scored a goal at minute 4, which gave the Gallos something to dream about.
However, the Universitarios turned that dream into a nightmare with goals from Leonel López, Marco García and José Rogério.
