It’s no lie to say that Nicolás Larcamón took by surprise everyone who is involved in Liga MX and Mexican soccer. He’s just starting his second year with Club Puebla, but he already returned La Franja to the spotlight, as they’ve played Liguilla in his two seasons on Puebla’s bench.
Hugo Sánchez could help El Tri to get a new coach to replace Gerardo Martino
For Clausura 2022, Larcamón currently has Puebla undefeated and as the leader of Liga MX with 11 points as a result of three victories and two draws. It’s even more impressive given that Los Camoteros have the roster with the lowest value in Liga MX and that they’ve sold their best players.
Larcamón has a clear project and has imprinted a unique style to Puebla, which is why he’s gathering attention from other Liga MX clubs and his name has even been linked to Mexico National Team on recent days, given his outstanding results.
When asked about the possibility of becoming Mexico National Team’s next coach, Larcamón said he would love to coach El Tri someday, but for now he’s focused on taking Club Puebla back to the place they belong. He also stated that El Tri is in good hands with Gerardo “Tata” Martino.
Orbelín has yet to debut with Celta de Vigo after staying on the bench for 4 matches
