Torrado has already been fired and De Luisa has already talked about the end of Martino at El Tri

Heads are starting to roll within the FMF after the poor results of the U-20 and women's teams. Yon de Luisa confirmed the departure of Gerardo Torrado as sports director of national teams. Torrado was the one who had taken Martino, so the president of the federation also spoke about the Tri coach.

In a press conference for different media, Yon de Luisa already spoke about the possible end of Gerardo Martino in charge of El Tri and also, what is coming for El Tri in the future. After firing Gerardo Torrado and Luis Pérez, the president of the FMF is already clear about Martino's future with the national team.

Despite the different scenarios of a possible dismissal of Martino, Yon de Luisa confirmed that he will continue until the 2022 World Cup, but that the issue of renewal for the 2026 process will not continue. In other words, Martino will not remain in Mexico after Qatar, one of Gerardo Torrado's wishes.

Will Martino leave before Qatar 2022?

For the moment, Yon de Luisa stated that they will continue with Gerardo Martino for the next World Cup in November 2022. The president pointed out that, despite the circumstances, the Argentinean is the chosen one to lead Mexico at the highest stage of world soccer.
