Although Gerardo “Tata” Martino managed to save his place in Mexico National Team after winning two of the three games of the FIFA match window and saved a tie in the last game, people are still asking for his demotion, as his style keeps raising questions.
Martino ignores him but Johan Vásquez keeps impressing everyone in Italy
El Tri looks unsynchronized every time they play, as if they didn’t have enough training time together and don’t know how to react, even though Martino calls the same players over and over again, not caring for the poor results they’ve achieved.
That’s why Mexican Football Federation already is looking for a coach that can substitute Martino in case he doesn’t win against USMNT in March. Reports pointed to Miguel Herrera, although he already said that he’s not interested at the moment, and Jaime Lozano, but his lack of experience would prevent his arrival in El Tri bench.
The third name on the mix, and the candidate most possible to assume the position is Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti, who has a solid resumé in Liga MX, both as a player and a coach, but also is looking for a new challenge after making Tigres the most winner club of the past decade.
