Former Mexico National Team goalkeeper and striker Jorge Campos opened about the incident that happened back in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, when a group of players from the Mexican delegation was visited and asked to rig some games in order to favor bets.
Jorge Campos, alongside Luis García and David Oteo, the three players on the Olympics team that were the senior additions, were asked to favor the odds, but Jorge Campos was the one that refused to be a sellout.

During the stage group, El Tri defeated Italy on their first game with a 1-0 victory, but then they tied their last two games, first a 0-0 draw against South Korea, followed by a 1-1 draw against Ghana. They were eliminated by Nigeria by a 2-0 defeat in the quarterfinals.
