With only two more games to be played in the season, Napoli is already planning what will be the 2022-23 Serie A Season for them, as they are looking to part ways with some of the players in the current roster as well as the additions that will arrive.
Gerardo Martino hasn’t considered him for Mexico National Team, but he’s ready to play in Europe
One of the players that has possibilities of leaving the Azzurri is Mexican international Hirving “Chucky” Lozano, who hasn’t been able to establish as a regular player in Luciano Spalletti’s starting XI, as he’s started 19 games out of the 36 that the Azzurri have played in Serie A.
Lozano has missed seven games of the season due to injuries suffered mainly while playing for the Mexican national team, something that has added to the lack of regularity that he had during the season, and that has made Napoli decide to make him transferable.
But Lozano has said in the past that he is happy living in Napoli and that he doesn’t intend on leaving the Azzurri soon, unless a good offer from one of Europe’s biggest teams arrives, which is why he’s requested something to Spalletti in the last part of the season.
Now that Lorenzo Insigne is ready to leave Napoli to join MLS side Toronto FC, there will be an open spot in the left side for the Azzurri, which is why “Chucky” Lozano has requested Spalletti to start him as a left-winger instead of a right-winger, according to sports journalist Francesco Marolda.
His request arrives after several reports informed that the Italian coach already has a new right-winger for Napoli for the 2022-23 season, as 21-year-old Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has agreed to join the Azzurri over the summer.
His arrival is another factor that has pushed Napoli to look to part ways with Lozano, although if he manages to establish as a good left-winger, he has options to remain in Napoli to fulfill his contract. And if that doesn’t end up happening, his versatility could open him a chance of arriving at Real Madrid.
“Chucky” Lozano has a good relationship with Carlo Ancelotti as the Italian coach was the one who requested Lozano’s arrival at Napoli and given that the Merengues will have at least five departures, he could request to be reunited with Lozano once again.
