Now that Carlos Vela made official his retirement from Mexico National Team, as he knows it’s time for the younger generations to take over El Tri and finally achieving the longstanding goal of reaching the quarterfinals of a World Cup, he can speak up his mind freely.
Martino is behind Vela’s retirement from El Tri
Not only does Vela knows that Gerardo “Tata” Martino wasn’t keen on him, which is the main reason why he never got to wear El Tri colors again after the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but also because there’s external factors that rule FMF interests, that kept him far from El Tri’s camp.
But Vela also knows that some of the players that currently give shape to Mexico National Team roster have earn their place based on their performances and hard work, which is why they should also be rewarded, like Hirving Lozano, who deserves to be the new number 10 of El Tri.
Since debuting with Mexico National Team in 2016 on a friendly match against Senegal, where he assisted for the second goal of El Tri, Lozano has played a total of 55 games with the Aztec squad, in which he’s scored 15 goals and given 11 assistances.
This striker could replace Vela in El Tri now that he retired
