Panama National Team will ask something that can cost Gerardo Martino his job

After Mexico National Team managed to beat Panama MNT in the last minutes of the game played in Estadio Azteca, it seemed like Gerardo “Tata” Martino has guaranteed his stay in El Tri’s bench at least until the next FIFA match window.

Is Larcamón the coach El Tri needs?

Before facing their first matches of 2022, FMF had requested the Argentinian coach to earn at least 7 of the 9 available points, something that seemed possible, as El Tri was going to visit Jamaica and then receive Costa Rica and Panama in Estadio Azteca.

 But after the scoreless draw against Costa Rica, Martino and El Tri were scrutinized by the people, as they were close to losing their direct access to Qatar 2022. Luckily for them, Raúl Jiménez was able to score the lone goal from the penalty kick that gave them the 3 points. A victory that now Panama will ask to take away from Mexico.

What will Panama ask in regards the game against Mexico?

According to reports, Panama National Team will ask FIFA and CONCACAF one of two things: that El Tri loses the 3 points earned on the 1-o victory, or that the game is played again, as they argue that Mexico National Team started a player that was positive to Covid-19, something that’s against the sanitary rules.
